Het hele productieproces van biobrandstoffen kan worden aangetoond met leXsolar-BioFuel Large. Het begint met de biologische stap van alcoholische gisting. Daarna wordt de geproduceerde puree gedistilleerd met behulp van de leXsolar-condensor, die speciaal voor dit experiment werd ontwikkeld. De laatste stap toont de conversie van de geproduceerde biobrandstof in bruikbare energie, zoals elektrische energie, met behulp van de meegeleverde ethanol-brandstofcel. leXsolar-BioFuel Large behandelt niet alleen het onderwerp van de productie van bio-ethanol, maar ook de productie van biodiesel door omestering van vetten.
